Traveling with the FHW as a journalist can be trying at the best of times but going in to the big Monday night Ricochet show the tension in the locker room area was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Pittsburg Pennyslvania at the Melon Arena the FHW may of changed forever.
The show opened up in typical fashion as the U.K. Crew and new found alies the Mad Tea Party where well on there way to retiring Tigerclaw armed with sacks of oranges the coalition gave Tigerclaw quite the citris clobering. Of coarse this was just the begining as Tigerclaw was loaded in to a giant Coconut, filled with Black Widows of all things.
It was at this point Scot Lamont interjected himself in to this civil dispute proclaiming that was in fact the biggest nut he'd ever seen, he's obviously never seen Bull in the shower....... Then from out of the Coconut came a most shocking revelation thats right folks for the 19879th time Tempest makes his dramatic return, you'll forgive me if I don't mark out for the Firks answer to Terry Funk.
All kidding aside I guess it's nice to have Tempest back, Scot Lamont was next out actually venturing in to the ring, a new and exciting concept that the FHW's experimenting with. Actually having there antics set in the ring so the fans can actually see it, Titan take notes. Lamont was as brash and arogant as ever but the once dominent fan favourite received a some what mixed reaction as he challenged Lee F'n' Todd to wrestle him for Presidency of FHW, of coarse if Lamont losses he proclaims we'll never see him again, yeah right remember when Vinny Mac made that claim how bout Kev Nash.
We where then taken to wrestlings odd couple Fred Estridge and Pete Roberts who gave us a lively run down of the nights festivities. As always the two couldn't agree on much but the lively commentators are always a highlight of the show for me.
Next we see Scot Lamont walking back to his dressing room, as he enters disaster strikes as some one's coated his door in super glue, stuck there Lamont was pretty much incompacitated when some one thoughtfully tried to help the Scot by blowing up the door. The Mad Tea Party can be so helpful some times.
Triple threat time next or so we thought unfortunately Genocide seemed to have more pressing matters to tend to. Thankfully Pain and Plague where more than happy to fight each other. Edmund Pain came out on top of this one with no sign of the Crew it just further cements the rumour that Plague is on very thin ice with his stable mates.
It's not long before we are treat to another backstage assault this time it's New Star beating two tons of sh*t out of Crusader with a ball bat, all the while one has to wonder where the hell is the President and when if ever will he get off his ass and actually do something. Fortunately for Crusader his buddy's Flashback and Insomniac where there to make the save.
But don't get too excited as thiongs wheren't over yet, Scot Lamont's night went from bad to worse as a monster truck decided to take a casual drive over his car. Heres the b*tch of it all poor o'l Lamont was hog tied up in the back seat sucks to be him. Who was driving the truck though, rumour has it Genocide was behind the wheel.
In a dissapointing affair Scorpion roled over Dante Reigns a rookie that showed signs of potential in this match but was obviously overcome by the veteran Scorpion and a brutal Frankensteiner through a table.
Next up Tiger Claw and Avalanche beat the disfunctional team of Price and New Star as if defeat wasn't bad enough New Star then gave Stu a receipt for a few derogitory comments he made hitting him with his devestating Death maneuvre.
Next we where scheduled to have an empty pool match but due to technical difficulties the feed from the pool was cut and things din't quite pan out.
In the main event Crusader and Champion Lee F'n' Todd battled back and fourth giving each other everything they had. This had the potential to turn in to a classic till the MTP tried to intervene Lee shocked the world as he actually went to great measures to stop there intervention. Unfortunately there was just too much to overcome and Mime broke through only to be stopped by Archangel the match would continue untainted or so we thought. Scorpion was next out missing Lee with a superkick he downed Crusader leaving Lee with no other option to cover. Todd had Crusader beat granted with a little unwanted help but unfortunately the reff's attention was elsewhere. Out of nowhere came John McCracken and in a traversty of justice McCracken took out both wrestlers with a chair not before rolling Crusader on top of Lee. As the ref turned round to deliver the three count it was the end of an era.
Crusader is the new World Heavyweight Champion and Lee's eleven month undefeated streak was over. It is debatable weather this signified the end of a great champions rein or marked the begining of a new and better man's story. Whatever your opinion of Lee may be he gave us an entertaining few months as Champion and only time will tell if he will ever wear the gold again.
In the closing moments of the show Lee signed a contract unfortunately the question on every ones lips is just what did Lee sign.
