"JOHNNY GET YOUR PEN"

"Shooting the Breeze"
(Aug. 16, 2002)

Evening, wrestling fans. Johnny Gallivan here once again with a few vaguaries about the world of wrestling and anything else that takes my fancy.

FHW Takeover is fast approaching, and I for one don't know what to expect. The Mime returns after a lengthy break, virtually ensuring that the tag team tournament match will be rife with the MTP's own special kind of mayhem. So, what's the big news in FHW? Well, if you ask some people, they would tell you the Roman Gladiator. This big man is tearing up the fed, and wrestling pundits expect him to put on a showcase against Jeremy Lyroco. But, the match I'll be glued to my seat for will be the world title match. Tumbler faces Insomniac, in FHW's flagship gimmick match, the Glass Hell in the Cell. Tumbler's been on top of his game for quite some time now, but many say Insomniac has got the drive to become the champ. Either way, this one should be a bloodbath.

Speaking of FHW, since the re-unification of Ragnarok, which features Ken Grimm, Craig Lassiter, and Daemon Krav, the bad men have been kind of spinning their heels. They appear to still be testing the waters of FHW, and are taking their time making an impact. In the fickle world of professional wrestling, they run the risk of being ignored. But, you'd have to be pretty self-obsessed to ignore the presence of Daemon Krav. If nothing else, then it's a good self-preservation instinct to keep one eye on this guy.

The Beast is doing well. We are still short of reporters, but I'm doing all I can. Rumors of another possible affiliate are coming in, so that's keeping the staff busy with paperwork. Johnny Lassiter has stopped threatening to shut down the company, and now our readership is slowly growing. So, if you're new to The Beast, and this is the first of my reports that you're reading, then pull up a chair. Wander over to the OOC board for a chat. But most importantly, check out my archives. I've bared my soul for my readers, and every now and then, I mention wrestling. Not too shabby, huh?

Let me close by giving you some info about upcoming posts. Somehow, (I'm still trying to find out how) The Beast has finagled yours truly into the ECTS Games convention in London, England near the end of August. I'll put together a group of reports of my trip to the big city, as well as my thoughts on ECTS. (hopefully with loads of booth babe pics!) Frankly, I can't wait, as I've always wanted to visit the UK. I don't know if I'll get a chance to check out any local wrestling talent, but whatever I see, you'll be the first to know about it. Maybe I can check out the birthplace of the legend, Lee Todd. Well, I can dream, anyway. So, until next time, keep your laces tight, and your powder dry.
